Supporting fair trade in Wellington

Fair Trade City Wellington is all about us, the people of Wellington.

Being a fair trade city means that Wellington contributes to an international trade system based on fairness and justice. A system which continues to grow. By buying fair trade products locally, we support producers in developing countries who are struggling to improve their lives.

When we ask retailers to provide fair trade bananas, ice blocks or dresses, we are not only making an ethical choice for ourselves. We are also creating awareness and community around fair trade issues, empowering others to make socially responsible choices.

You can support ethical consumption by downloading the latest Buying Guide for a wild array of fair trade retailers in the Wellington region. You can also check out Fair Trade City Wellington on Facebook.

And have a great Wellington Anniversary Day, Wellingtonians!
