More than coffee…
June 19, 2009
We all know that you can find a pretty decent cup of Fair Trade Coffee in Wellington. Fair Trade, however, covers many more commodities and products than coffee. We want to know what other Fair Trade products you like to buy.
Perhaps you have a Fair Trade and Organic T-shirt from Kowtow, or covet Veja Fair Trade sneakers from Starfish, purchased a beautiful pair of earings from Trade Aid , or like to cook with something delicious from Commonsense Organics who stock the largest range of Fair Trade food products in New Zealand.
Please, leave a comment and inspire others to check out Fair Trade.

I have a t-shirt and a hoodie from kowtow and sneakers from starfish already! the fair-trade cotton in kowtow clothes is organic and it’s good quality. cool designs too. and the veja sneakers are equally cool. i know for a fact that jermaine from flight of the conchords shops at starfish. he wanted the same sneakers as me!

Trade AId is perfect for birthdays, christmas or thank you presents. It sounds corny but you’re giving more than once! Your family and friends will get unique hand-crafted goods and you can feel good about shopping! Everyone I know are probably sick of my trade aid gifts but I keep on giving them – cause they’re great. Plus they have some great stuff or kids too!

I totally agree with the using Trade Aid for pressies comment, I do it all the time! Make sure you tell people they’re from Trade Aid too – they love it! They can feel like they’re doing their own little bit for society every time they use their gift (and they’ll love you for it!)

thehinitiative sell some fair trade cotton tees too! They feature limited edition designs by NZ design talent, and all the tees fundraise for their charity partners e.g. Mental Health Foundation! thehinitiative’s all about looking great while doing good for others & good causes – the reason why it got started in the first place! : ) Check out lookgreatdogood.co.nz
