Let’s Make Wellington a Fair Trade City
This is a great idea initiated in the UK to spread the word on fair trade. There are now over 250 fair trade towns and cities in the UK.
So we’re inviting you to join the Wellington Fair Trade City campaign – to help Wellington be the first fair trade city in Aotearoa, New Zealand. That means commitment from workplaces, churches, community groups, universities, schools – and endorsement from our city council.
You can get involved by:
- signing our e-petition
- come to the launch of the Fair Trade City campaign
- use Fair Trade products at your workplace, school, church or community group and register this with the Fair Trade Association of Australia & NZ (FTAANZ)
- shopping at places that sell Fair Trade certified products and asking your friends to do the same
- Ask your retailer about stocking Fair Trade products
- Come along to Fair Trade Fortnight events in Wellington and find out what more you can do. Fair Trade Fortnight events programme
